The Fachtmann Twins, Richard and James, have been captivated by aviation since they were just knee-high, attending airshows with their father, Robert Hans Fachtmann, at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL. From those early days in the 1970s, their passion for flying soared—saving lunch money for flight lessons, joining the Civil Air Patrol and ROTC, and washing airplanes to stay close to the skies they loved.
Their journey took them through universities, flight schools, and countless hours instructing and flying for corporate aviation, Northwest Airlink, and AirTran.
